01Colour & shade

We photograph every Epoqe piece in carefully controlled light and edit images to look as close to real life as possible. Even so, colour can appear slightly different on your phone or laptop because every screen displays colour differently, and because daylight, warm light and studio light all change how a fabric looks.

Fabrics dyed in different batches may also differ very slightly in shade. These variations are natural and are not considered a defect.

02Print placement & patterns

Prints, stripes, checks and motifs are cut from large lengths of fabric, so the exact position of a flower, stripe or motif on your piece may differ from the one in the photos. Stripes and checks may not match perfectly at every seam. This is a normal part of garment production and does not affect the quality of your piece.

03Texture & sheen

Many of our fabrics have a finish that changes with light. Linen blends and linen-textured fabrics show gentle weave lines and slubs, satin blends have a soft sheen, crepe and textured weaves have a subtle surface pattern, and chiffon looks lighter or darker depending on what is worn underneath. These qualities give each fabric its character and are not flaws.

04Measurements & fit

Garment measurements on our size charts are approximate and may vary by up to about 1 inch due to the nature of fabric, cutting and finishing. Each style has its own size chart on the product page — please check it before ordering, and see our Size Guide for how to measure yourself.

05Unstitched suit material

Fabric lengths for kurta, bottom and dupatta are listed on each product page and may vary slightly due to cutting. Print and border placement can differ from the photos, and the finished look depends on how your tailor cuts and stitches the fabric. Epoqe is not responsible for stitching, fit or alterations done by a tailor. Read our Unstitched Suit Material Guide before ordering.

06Dyes & colour bleeding

Deep and bright shades (such as black, navy, wine, maroon and fuchsia) may release a little excess dye in the first few washes. Always wash dark and bright colours separately in cold water, and do not soak them. Follow our Fabric Care Guide to keep colours rich for longer.

07Shrinkage

Cotton, linen and rayon blends can shrink slightly after washing, especially in warm water or a dryer. Wash in cold water and dry in the shade to minimise this.

08Relaxed, oversized & elasticated styles

Relaxed and oversized shirts, kaftans and elasticated waistbands are designed to drape or stretch to fit a range of body shapes, so the flat measurement of the garment may be smaller or larger than the size it fits. Please read the fit note on each product page.

09What counts as a genuine defect

The natural variations described above are not defects. Genuine defects include holes, tears, stains, a broken zip or button, a missing piece of the set, or receiving the wrong item. If you receive a defective item, message us within 3 days of delivery with your continuous opening video and clear photos. Once verified, we send a free replacement as per our Returns, Exchange & Refund Policy.
