Most wardrobes lean one way or the other: dressed up and a little uncomfortable, or comfortable and a little underdressed. Epoqe was started to sit right in between, with modern pieces that look polished and still feel easy after a long day. We call it dressing right, not dressing louder.

Our tagline is fait à la main, French for “made by hand”. It is not a slogan about a single technique; it is a reminder of the human care that goes into every piece. Here is what that looks like, step by step.

Why Surat

Our studio is in Surat, Gujarat, a city that has lived and breathed textiles for generations. Being here means we are close to fabric, print and finishing expertise, and close to the people who make our clothes. It lets us see samples quickly, adjust details by hand and keep a careful eye on quality.

1. It starts with real life

We don’t design for runways. We design for coffee runs, long workdays, quick plans and travel days. Every piece starts with a question: will someone reach for this on an ordinary Tuesday? That is why so much of what we make comes as a set. A co-ord does the matching for you, and it splits into separates that work with the rest of your wardrobe.

From there we refine essentials rather than chase trends: a relaxed shirt with wide-leg pants, a flared skirt set with contrast piping, a three-piece set with an overlay that takes you from desk to dinner.

2. Fabrics chosen for Indian weather

Comfort starts with fabric. We work with breathable cottons and cotton blends, airy linen blends, soft rayon blends that carry prints beautifully, and flowing satin blends for kaftans. Each one is chosen for how it feels in heat and humidity, not just how it looks in a photo. You can read about each one on our fabrics page, or compare them in our summer fabric guide.

3. Fit that stays consistent

We work closely with our manufacturing partners in India on reliable sizing, so a medium feels like a medium from one drop to the next. Our newest styles run from XS to 5XL, and every product has its own size chart and a fit note that tells you whether it is relaxed, regular or fitted. If you are unsure, our measuring guide takes two minutes.

4. Checked by hand, packed with care

This is where fait à la main matters most. Before an order leaves our Surat studio, a person inspects every piece in it. Then it is folded and packed by hand. It is a small step, but it is the difference between hoping something is right and knowing it is.

Clothes shouldn’t wear you. They should support your day.

5. Fair prices, online first

As an online-first brand, we put our effort into fabric, fit and finishing rather than retail overheads. Shipping is free on prepaid orders above ₹999, payments are secured by Razorpay, and cash on delivery is available on selected pin codes.

6. Real people, real help

When you message us, a real person from our team replies, on WhatsApp or at support@epoqe.in, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 5 PM. Ask us about sizing, fabric or styling before you buy, or for help with an order after. If a size doesn’t work out, you can request an exchange within 3 days of delivery.
